February 2011

Now we are well on our way into the newyear, i would like to up date you with some information in the club. We have recently had a change around on our committee, and would like to welcome Aileen Connor as our new chair, Aileen joined as chair in October 2010, as has settled into her role beautifully. We also have a new Secretary Morag Dowie, and Treasurer Jane Yates, who are both doing a great Job.
From Decemeber 2010 John Francis took on the role as Deputy manager, who will step into my shoes when i am off or on holiday, please feel free to chat with John at any time.
We have a new addition to our team, who will be joining us in the next few weeks once we have her disclosure back, Her name is Lucy Smith, Lucy has experience in working with a different age groups, she has previously been a child's party planner, worked in play schemes, and also been a children's party organiser in Xscape at Braehead. Lucy is a qualified Sports Therapist, and is hoping in 2012 to go onto Murray House to become a P.E teacher. Lucy will be a great asset to our team, and will bring new skills and activities to the Little Villagers.

Up and coming Holidays

Our February holiday club booking form has been online over the past few weeks, and we have a lot of exciting activities on the go, these include getting down and dirty, Risk and Challenge, sports, Baking, Outdoor activities, trip to the cinema, pizza making to name but a few. All the children need is to bring themselves along (with a change of clothes and wellies on certain days) and let us entertain and have a great holiday.
We will be closing on Friday the 29th of April, this is due to the Royal wedding, and the school and Janitorial staff being on holiday.
As the elections are taking place on the 5th of May, we are currently looking into other options on where we can run a holiday club, we can not get access to the school this day, as it is not secure for us to be in the community rooms as the school is open to the public for polling, but we will keep you updated on where we will base ourselves, and also keep an eye out on the website for the other up and coming holiday club booking forms.

I would also like to thank everyone who voted for us in the Royal Bank of Scotlands community fund, We came in second place, and were given £1000 to put towards computing equipment for the children. We are currently in the process of getting this equipment in place. Thank you all again for your support.
